Meet Your Team

Steve Copeland in North America | Albert Energy

Steve Copeland

I have worked in the energy sector since 1974 and energy recruiting since 2002. I have performed full retained, hybrid and contingency searches and filled hundreds of positions for my clients.

During my extensive career, I have been involved in the planning, design, construction, business development, commissioning, and operation of power plants and transmission lines. I have worked for OEMs, engineering firms, and power utilities, providing detailed design, project management, and project development services. My generation projects include coal, natural gas, hydro-electric, cogeneration, fuel-cell, and wood-fired plants.

I was elected to a four-year term as Commissioner at the Brunswick and Glynn County Joint Water and Sewer Commission where I directed the on-going operations, engineering and upgrades for a 31,000 meter water and wastewater system.

I managed the design, construction, commissioning and operation of power plants, substations and transmission lines. At one point in my career, I served three years as the on-site Area Manager for the construction of a $1.1 billion power plant.

While working for a utility as an Electric System Planner, I was also responsible for the annual generation plan and long-term expansion plan for a 4500 MW electric system.

I hold a BSME degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA concentrated in Finance from Georgia State University.

I am a Professional Engineer (PE) registered in the state of Georgia and served in several state and local officer roles as a member of the Georgia Society of Professional Engineers (GSPE).

I hail from a military family. My father, Robert Copeland, retired as a Chief Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force. My son served our country in the U.S. invasion of Fallujah, Iraq, as a United States Marine.

Pam Howard Copeland in North America | Albert Energy

Pam Howard Copeland

My roots in recruiting date back to 1991, with core experience in engineering, IT, and most recently, Healthcare.
I have a rare and unique perspective on the staffing industry: I have worked in multiple roles on both the agency side and corporate side of the hiring table and have experienced the challenges that come with each.
I have worked in large and medium-sized staffing firms in both Sales Professional and Recruiter positions and as a recruiter and Talent Acquisition Manager in a corporate seat.
Early in my career, I was the recruiting manager for a successful staffing firm where I managed a team of ten recruiters. In a separate role, as Recruiting Manager for an IT consulting firm, I experienced the challenges a hiring manager faces when utilizing the services of staffing companies and external recruiters to help build a company’s employee base. While working at a large energy recruitment firm, I gained sales and recruitment experience directly related to technical executive placement services in the energy industry.
All of these experiences are uniquely combined in a person who understands your challenges and anticipates your needs.

Who’s Albert?

Albert Energy was named in honor of Albert G. Howard – son, brother, husband, father, sailor, and minister.

There are many Alberts out there, including famous Alberts (Albert Einstein, Albert Schweitzer), infamous Alberts (Albert DeSalvo, Albert Fish), royal Alberts (Prince Albert, Albert the Bear), and Alberts who sing the blues (Albert Collins, Albert King).

But the Albert of Albert Energy is Albert G. Howard.

Not Sir Albert Howard (1873-1947) the British botanist often referred to as “the father of modern organic agriculture,” but Albert G. Howard (1933-1973), the father of Kim Howard and Pam Howard Copeland, founding co-partner of Albert Energy.

Pam’s dad, Albert Gerald Howard, served in the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer and a Seabee. He served in Viet Nam in 1969 as a heavy equipment operator building roads and runways. After he retired from the U.S. Navy in 1971, he was ordained as a Baptist minister. He died at the early age of 39 from a heart condition. Pam’s fondest memories of her father include his love of Ham radio and his unconditional love as a father.

It is to honor this man that Albert Energy is so named.
